Mt Kilimanjaro Climb
On the 1st May 1999, my life was changed irrevocably when I suffered a spinal injury playing football. I was told I would never walk again.
Thankfully this was not the case. I was one of the fortunate ones.
Since my positive recovery I have been looking for an opportunity to give back to organisations that support people living with a Spinal Cord Injury.
Independence Australia is one of those organisations. In 1999, Independence Australia supported me in my recovery, at the Royal Talbot Rehab Hospital.
Now in October 2012 I am going to undertake the challenge of climbing the 5,895 meters to the peak of Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania.
Climbing Mt Kilimanjaro involves a seven day return hike and I expect that the altitude, low temperature and occasional high winds will make this a very difficult trek that will be a huge challenge for me.
Please help me to acheive my goal of raising $50,000 for Independence Australia and people living with a disability.
